Why the wild boar, you ask? They rule the woods in Big Sur, California, where we lived for years at the Partington Ridge cabin called the Homestead.

We had our babies at home, raised goats, grew an organic garden, and enjoyed wonderful water from a spring in the canyon. There was no electricity, no telephone, no T.V. (We did have a battery powered record player, however--can't live without music.)

What we did have was a lot of time, which is what we miss the most. There was time to read, read, read, and time for playing music. (Click here to hear Tom play Buckdancer's choice)

Our store is a microcosm of our life in Big Sur, an expression of what we highly value in the areas of art, music, literature, and the development of children.

Our tagline is "Eclectic vitality in an atmosphere of earthy elegance," and if you can grok that, you understand us. Much thought goes into everything we have in the store; each item is chosen for its intrinsic quality and artistic representation.
